Focus on Quality Means Healthier Communities
We want to ensure each patient has a great experience and their needs are supported by educated and compassionate staff, the best services available and state-of-the-art amenities. Since this week, Oct. 18-24, is Healthcare Quality Week, we’d like to share a few of the accolades Memorial has received this year that reflect our commitment to positive patient outcomes and improving the health of the communities we serve.
Comprehensive Stroke Center
Memorial Medical Center earned the nation’s highest designation for stroke care—one of only seven hospitals to do so in Illinois, and one of only two outside of Chicago. The hospital’s certification as a comprehensive stroke center from The Joint Commission, a level of care achieved by fewer than 100 hospitals in the nation, recognizes our ability to provide expert around-the-clock care for the most complex stroke patients.
Employer of Choice
Great patient outcomes could not happen without dedicated employees. Being honored as an Employer of Choice by Employer of Choice International means employees choose to serve Memorial patients, a nod to great culture and an important mission. We could not be successful without our dedicated employees, whether they are providing direct patient care or they are supporting the administrative function of the organization. Everyone’s role is vital to improving the health of our communities.
LearningElite Organization
Memorial Health System received a LearningElite gold award from Chief Learning Officer magazine, recognizing our commitment to implementing workforce learning and development strategies. Memorial was the highest ranked healthcare system to receive a national award for its commitment to learning innovation and also was recognized with an award for Best Mid-Sized Company. Other top award winners included Hilton Worldwide, Walgreens, UPS, State Farm and Nationwide.
